more backlash: david letterman considers banning trump for his racist comments.
by colby hall | 8:16 am, april 29th, 2011 video .
david letterman and his guest dr. phil discussed donald trumps recent allegations that barack obama was.
I'm a white male in my 60's. I grew up during the clearly racist 1950s. I was a young man during the time of MLKing and the Watts riot of 1965. My very best friend growing up was an African-American kid. I never thought of myself as racist - but I was. As I get older, I think I am becoming less racist, but every so often I have to bang my head against a concrete wall for making some stupid remark or laughing at some clearly racist joke. I am still a bit of a racist. I DON'T WANT TO BE, But its been programmed into my damn DNA.
Racism is when you do anything to a person of color or other ethnicity that you wouldn't do to someone of your own color or ethnicity. That's it. Bottom line. Racism is when you ask more of a person of color, than you would of a white person. Racism is when you point out the faults of a person of one color, that you would ignore in someone of your color or race.
Instead of referring to Denzel Washington as a movie star, you refer to him as a "black/Negro/African-American movie actor." You're a racist.
Instead of referring to Fred "in the accounting department," you refer to him as "Fred, the African-American, in Accounting." You're a racist.
When Katrina devastated New Orleans, hundreds of people fled across a bridge to a small town for help and safety. Police, mostly white, turned them back at gun-point "because the town was overwhelmed with Big Easy residents already." Right. Those early arrivals, mostly white, who drove across in their cars earlier that day were given shelter. The poor blacks who tried to walk over were turned back. The police and townspeople were racists.
President Obama has been subjected to close scrutiny over his birth certificate, where he went to school, how he got into Harvard, and all of his associates - whether they were supporters or just acquaintances. He is still under fire daily over every little detail of his life. Now they are implying that because his father was turned away from Harvard in 1963, that something is fishy about Obama. That is racist pure and simple. Why?
Senator John McCain was born in Panama, in the US controlled canal zone. Did anyone question his citizenship? No. He was in a North Vietnamese prison for years, tortured and brainwashed. Has he been accused of being programmed as a Manchurian Candidate to take over our government? (Go back and watch the original movie with Frank Sinatra.) NO, of course not. McCain was a decent student, but he got his scholarship thanks to influences by his father, a decorated military officer. Does that make him a bad person. NO. He was involved in the savings and loan scandal in the late 1980s. Was that brought up during the campaign to imply that McCain was a criminal? NO.
Not asking McCain questions about his past three years after the 2008 election, but accusing Obama of being unqualified after being elected? Racist, pure and simple.
I guess I am enough of a racist myself to recognize when others are being racist.
Right now Republican Party, Tea Party, Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh AND Donald Trump - ARE CLEARLY RACISTS - especially when it concerns our President. The fact that the old Confederate States all hate Obama, no matter what he does for them, proves that Southern racism is alive and well - if not expanding.
There is not a single doubt of that in my mind.

for those of you that have been following the ongoing story of the forced take over of the menlo park, california kingdom hall, please go to:.
http://ex-jw.com/fear-and-loathing-in-menlo-park.
i'm sorry, the article is still a little rough and still needs a lot of editing, but i wanted to get it up by today at the latest.
In case anyone is still interested in this case, I can assure you that it is not dead. Suddenly I am getting calls from JWs and ex-JWs from all over the country telling me that similar situations happened in their area. Some of the stories are quite incredible, but there is a consistent thread that is running through them that give me confidence that Menlo Park is not that unique.
The Menlo Park story, though, may take a very dramatic turn within the next few weeks - very, very dramatic. This could turn out to be something bigger than I ever imagined when I first began to investigate.
I will let everyone know when I post something new at Ex-JW.com, but I would suggest - if you haven't read it before, that you check out one of my first articles on the subject. I realize now that it holds clues to deeper issues going on at Menlo Park that I did not understand when I wrote it several months ago:

how has jwn changed over the years, old timers?
so how has jwn changed over the minutes, new timers?
Sooner: Was that in the AM or the PM? Things change so fast around here I can't remember. Although I will say that JWN seemed much better before I went to bed last night...

Yes, JWN was much better yesterday - and hundreds of times better last weekend. Why do I keep coming back?

Brianna,
Don't let some of those nasty comments posted on that article bother you. Look at it this way: You've already got seven pages of comments, good and bad. That means that possibly thousands have read that article about you. Many of them might actually buy your book.
The negative comments are clearly from JWs, some JW apologists, far right nay-sayers, and total idiots who are the very people that want to treat the homeless like lepers. I know you have had criticism in the past for "not being homeless enough." How could you be homeless - and yet have a cell phone and a laptop? From their point of view, you were "too rich to be homeless."
I can understand how some people might think that way - if they haven't read your book. I firmly believe that those who actually read your book will wonder how you managed to survive the way you did and still remain sane.
Everyone needs to learn a little empathy. Don't criticize someone if you don't know their story. I once went to lunch with a co-worker. A one-armed crippled man in a wheel chair accidentally blocked his path as we were driving through a shopping mall parking lot. I could see that one of the wheels of the disabled man's chair had stuck in a pothole and he was struggling with his one arm to force the wheel up and out.
Getting all impatient, my companion rolled down his windonw and started yelling at the guy to "get the move on." Finally I climbed out of the truck and went to offer the poor fellow some help. "Normally I'd say no," he said, "but maybe it would be a good idea if you could help me just this one time." He mentioned that he'd been wounded in Viet Nam many years before, but now that he was older his strength was limited. "Every so often I need to ask for help, but I hate it," he said."Tell your friend I'm sorry I blocked his way."
I climbed back into my friend's truck. "Said he was wounded in Viet Nam."
"Yeah, right," he replied. "Maybe he'd have been better off if he'd taken one in the head instead of the spine."
I just shook my head, astonished at this guy's total lack of empathy. I should have said something, but I chickened out. I decided anything I said would die a lonely death inside this guy's skull. But after that I disliked him to the point that I avoided him completely. I was done with him and his bullshit bully attitude.
That's what these naysayers are doing with you. The are just being bullies. They are trying to say that you should have been "more destitute or more homeless." You shouldn't have inherited anything from your father. You shouldn't have collected unemployment. You were living off the dole because "you wanted to live that way." You were poor and homeless - not because of your job - but because of your "spendthrift ways and lack of character." And of course, "God was punishing you" for leaving the good life your Jehovah's Witness family had given you. Jeeeezzzz...
They need to read your book. More important - they need to get a life.

they say the average person will own about 25 cars in their life time.. from 1982 to 1988 i owned a 1971 dodge challenger convertible.
it had a 340 with a 4 speed stick.
i loved that car.. i didnt cry when my wife left me....i did cry when that car drove out of my life!.
Berengaria, where are you located? Your Mercury Comet looks suspiciously like the Ford Maverick we had here in the USA. Their style, which was supposed to mimic the late 60's and early 70s Mustangs, did not age well. They were supposed to compete with the Chevrolet Nova / Chevy II compact. Whatever it is, your car is very pretty and looks hot from that angle.
